Jay Cannistraci Scholarship

Makeup School Scholarships

A cherished friend and a film industry legend has passed on. On September 15, 2011, Jay Cannistraci lost his courageous battle with cancer. We have created makeup school scholarships in his honor.   Jay launched his film career in 1969 as a premiere Makeup Artist in the film Goodbye Columbus. Jay worked with directors Woody Allen, Oliver Stone and James Cameron and contributed to over 100 movies and TV episodes. See Credits>

Most recently, he was one of Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry’s Film & TV instructors and was instrumental in helping build the school into what it is today. His family, friends, faculty, and students will miss him. He was a great inspiration to all of us.  This Makeup Artist scholarship is awarded annually in December to an individual who has the passion and dedication to pursue a career as a professional makeup artist in film and television.

This scholarship provides $10,000 for the Master or Production Makeup Artistry Program
