Master Makeup
Artistry Pro
This is our longest, most comprehensive program for students who want to be well-rounded, train in every media, and work as a makeup and special effects artist or a skin care specialist with no restrictions. Most states have licensing requirements for freelance makeup artists, and many retail cosmetic companies only hire licensed artists. Master Makeup Artistry Pro graduates are licensed by the Florida Board of Cosmetology and prepared for entry-level employment in the cosmetic, fashion, film, TV, bridal, salon/spa, theatrical and entertainment industries.

Fundamental Makeup Technique

Short lectures, video presentations, and live demonstrations are followed by guided practice emphasizing the individual elements of makeup application. This course is recommended for beginners and artists who have worked at a retail counter and lack technical training. It emphasizes the attention to detail necessary to work in every media. Airbrushing Makeup

Airbrushing provides a camera-ready velvety texture in a quarter of the time it takes to do traditional makeup application. This class covers basic application (including eye makeup, blush, and lip color).
Wedding & Event Makeup

Pre-requisites Fundamental & Airbrushing
This course covers ‘camera ready’ makeup for bridal and special events. Airbrushing Makeup is a pre-requisite as both brides and photographers request it. Students learn current trends and classic looks for any occasion from a big-city black tie extravaganza to a simple oceanfront ceremony. They also learn how to market their services, create bridal contracts and develop a thriving bridal business.
Hairstyling for Makeup Artists

Production makeup artists must be able to style hair. This course teaches hair styling techniques for commercial, editorial, and fashion work.
Makeup for Fashion

Pre-requisites Fundamental, Airbrushing, Wedding & Event Makeup, Hairstyling for Makeup Artists
This course is staged in a different atmosphere. Students now comprise a creative team; they learn to work with designers, models, creative directors and photographers. Print advertising, catalog layouts, fashion editorial work, avant-garde black & white and color photography, and runway shows are included.
Students’ work is captured in several photo shoots including a black & white photo, a vintage fashion shot, and an Avant-Garde art piece. Artists’ responsibilities include research, design, makeup, hair and wardrobe styling. The work is evaluated on editorial style, beauty and makeup proficiency.
Retail & Marketing

This course focuses on entreprenurial skills, professional dispositions, retail merchandising, sales, and customer relations. Students learn how to create their own freelance business and successfully work in a retail environment.
Character Makeup

In film and television, a makeup artist’s job is to help create characters real and fantasy from all time periods. This course teaches the necessary skills to transform actors into whatever the script requires. Students learn many elements of character effects makeup and how to break down a script, plan the makeup prior to the shooting of scenes, and ensure accurate continuity. Topics covered:

Makeup for Film & TV
63 clock hours – pre-requisite Fundamental Makeup Technique
This course focuses on the fundamental skills necessary to work in television and film, including music videos, commercials, daytime television, sitcoms, reality shows, TV series, news broadcasts, and films. Breaking down scripts, industry terminology & protocols, creating a continuity journal and morgue, high definition techniques and products, and pre-production responsibilities are all included.
Theatrical Makeup

Pre-requisites Fundamental, Airbrushing, Character
This course prepares students for work in the performing arts including musicals, operas, ballets and live concerts. Students learn the principles of stage makeup including technical terminology and lighting effects. This course also covers Drag Makeup & Body Painting.
Special FX Prosthetics Makeup
210 clock hours
This course equips students with makeup & lab techniques to create FX makeup. for film, television, and theater. Students learn about silicone, gelatin, and foam latex materials. They design, create, and apply prosthetic and dental appliances. The process includes conceptualization, life casting, sculpting, molding and application techniques. Students learn and practice the art of application, utilizing proper placement, coloration and blending to create realistic characters. The final project for the special effects makeup artist school is captured in a photo shoot.
Creature Design
90 clock hours- pre-requisite FX-2
Students learn how to design, construct and mold an advanced three dimensional sculpted character. This course is ideal for artists interested in working in a special makeup effects lab building projects for film, television and theatrical productions, haunted houses, toy or video game productions and theme parks. Our FX Makeup students’ final project is captured in a photo shoot.
Cosplay
FX-4 56 hours pre-requisite FX-1 & FX-2
Cosplay or “costume play” is a performance art in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character. Students make wings, armor, swords, and other props to complete their final character that is captured in a photo shoot.
Sanitation & HIV/AIDS
14 clock hours
Students learn product knowledge on antiseptics, disinfectants, and how to use them, as well as the different equipment used to sterilize facial tools. This course covers the differences between HIV and AIDS and the transmission and prevention of the viruses.
Skin Sciences
85 clock hours
Students begin to study general sciences: pathology of the skin – recognizing skin diseases and disorders, general anatomy and physiology, histology of the skin, chemistry, electricity, and disorders and diseases of the skin. Students also learn about skin analysis, skin types and products.
Facial Procedures & Makeup Application
162 clock hours
This course focuses on actual esthetic practices. Students learn how to set up a treatment room, select and operate facial equipment, and sanitization of implements and equipment. Students also learn an array of different facial treatments and facial massage techniques.
Hair Removal
32 clock hours
Students study the morphology of the hair, hair growth cycles, methods of hair removal both permanent and temporary, and product knowledge on a variety of hot and soft waxes, body sugaring pastes, and other products. Students practice waxing all areas of the face and body.
FL Law & Business Development
7 clock hours
This course covers the Florida Statues that govern makeup artists, facial specialists, and cosmetologists. The course covers resume writing, interviewing skills, responsibilities of employment, client retention, retail strategies, incentives, goal setting, designing successful marketing strategies, listening and communicating, and day to day salon operational knowledge.
