Why Should a Makeup Artist Consider Esthetician School?

Esthetician Schools focus on the training of skin care professionals. But in order for a Makeup Artist to be licensed, they must have an Esthetics or Cosmetology license. Many major retailers are now only hiring Makeup Artists who are licensed. Our Master Pro Program includes the skin care training for our students to be licensed.

As the job market becomes more competitive, having a license is more important than ever! To have a thorough understanding of skin conditions can only enhance your abilities as a Makeup Artist.

Makeup Artists who sell retail products drastically increase their income when they add skin care to their product line. Skin care is highly consumable. Clients may keep a blush for over a year, but a cleanser or moisturizer needs replacing every month or two. Your clients will also be grateful when their skin glows and their makeup lasts longer as well.

The skin care program covers the knowledge and procedures needed to run a successful skin care business. It also satisfies the licensing requirements for freelance makeup artists practicing in Florida. Graduates of the skin care program will be prepared for entry-level employment in a salon, spa, brow bar, resort hotel, or plastic surgery or dermatological clinic as a skin care specialist.

Students are trained to provide a variety of services that include skin analysis, facial massage and treatments, peels, waxing, and basic makeup artistry. Training focuses on hands-on, clinical experience and business development. Students are trained with Dermalogica Skin Care Professional Products. Graduates will be ready for licensure with the Florida Board of Cosmetology at the successful completion of this program.
